School of Marxism, founded in November 2017, is a secondary institution directly under the leadership of Xi'an Medical University. Its predecessor was the Teaching and Research Department of Ideological and Political Theory established in March 2009. School of Marxism is the main unit undertaking the construction of the key courses of moral education and the discipline of Marxism, and is the pioneer of the ideological and political education of the university The School consists of Party and Government Offices,Office of Teaching Affairs,Office of Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Law Literacy,Office of Outline of Modern and Modern Chinese history,Office of Introduction to the Basic Principles of Marxism,Office of Introduction to MAO Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,as well as Office of Medical Ethics. It has established the Popular Science Education Base of Shaanxi Province, the Medical Humanities Research Center of Xi'an Medical University and the Medical Humanities Education Center. There are 40 members in the School, including 15 professors and associate professors, and 9 doctors.

School of Marxism adheres to the principle of “ fostering virtue through education”, especially pays attention to the combination of ideological and political education and medical ethics education, and makes full use of medical ethics education resources inside and outside the school，and red culture resources in Shaanxi region, to carry out on-site teaching.

In recent three years, it has been approved more than 60 projects at all levels, published more than 200 papers, and completed one university-level key discipline.The teachers have achieved excellent results ina variety of competitions such as Teaching Competition of Ideological and Political Course Teachers in Shaanxi Province,Lesson Plan Competition,Piloting Program and other activities, contributing to the great development of the School .
