Department of Physical Education

Department of Physical Education was established in 2009 and has 31 staff. It includes: the Party and Government Office, the Teaching and Research Section; the Ball Sports Office, the Basic Sports Office and the Art Sports Office; Physical and Health Test Center and the Stadium and Equipment Management Center. The Department is mainly responsible for the university’s physical education. Adhering to the school-running tradition, theDepartment innovates the concept of education and improves the teaching quality constantly. In accordance with the requirements of the "National Guiding Outline of Teaching Physical Education in Colleges and Universities" and the "New Physical Health Standard", the Department offers such courses as: basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton, Aerobics, cheerleading, sports dance, Yoga, folk dance, martial arts routines, track and field, judo, rope skipping, orienteering, sports and health care, to satisfy aiming at the needs of students for recreation and health.

In recent years, the Department has made rich achievements in scientific research, published more than 100 scientific research papers, including 5 SCI papers, 2 EI papers, 4 CPCI papers. Among the 25 projects approved, 17 are funded by governments and governments-related institutions, and 8 are funded by the university. More than 20 patents have been granted.5 textbooks have been published. Besides, the Department has won many awards in provincial level sports competition.

Physical Education in colleges and universities is an integral part of cultivating all-round talents. The Department regularly organizes teachers' professional study and adheres to the system of collective lesson preparation. In particular, at the beginning or end of the semester, targeted professional learning and skills training will be arranged. The skill competition of young teachers is a regular competition item at the beginning of the new semester, so as to improve the personal qualities of young teachers in an all-round way, and push P. E. teaching to a new level.
