On December 21st, President Shinji Shimada from University of Yamanashi led a delegation to Xi’an Medical University for purposes of exchange and collaboration. President Yang Fan, vice-president Li Xueping, directors from Academic Affairs and School of Basic Medical Sciences met with the guests.

In his welcome speech, President Yang Fan welcomed the guests and introduced about XMU. He said Japan and China are close neighbors and share a same cultural origin. He hoped for more exchange and cooperation programs in areas of faculty training, student visit and research projects, especially with the establishment of the agreement.

President Shimada and Dean Nakao of Medicine expressed their appreciation of Chinese hospitality. They admire the accomplishments of XMU in the dedication to local and community health care. They welcome teachers and students of XMU to visit and study in Yamanashi and love to visit Xi’an again to be cultural ambassadors. Agreement of cooperative intent was signed at the end of meeting.
