On June 8th, a delegation led by Consul General Kyraubayev Zhoshykhan of the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Xi'an, visited XMU. Leader from Xi'an Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Secretary Liu Ling of the Party Committee XMU and Gong Shouping, Deputy Secretary and Vice President of XMU met with the visiting guests.

Liu Ling welcomed Consul General and his delegation , and briefly introduced XMU. He stated that China and Kazakhstan are good neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, with a shared destiny, and have reached a new height of "permanent comprehensive strategic partnership". He hopes to take the visit of the Consul General as an opportunity to initiate exchanges and cooperation between Xi'an Medical University and medical institutions in Kazakhstan.

Gong Shouping stated that the successful conclusion of the China-Central Asia Summit presents significant new opportunities for the development of bilateral relations. XMU and its affiliated hospitals have a solid foundation for conducting international exchanges and cooperation in medical education and health. He hopesthat Consul General could play a bridging role and look forward to establishing exchange and cooperation relationships with medical institutions in Kazakhstan; to together improve the medical and health level of both countries and protect the health of the peoples.

Zhoshykhanexpresses gratitude to XMUfor its sincere invitation, careful arrangement, and warm reception, and appreciates and agrees with our university's open educational philosophy and medical education model. He stated that Xi'an has a long history and a rich culture, a unique geographical location, and enormous development potential. He will actively build a platform and bridge for XMUto exchange and cooperate with medical institutions in Kazakhstan, and support XMUto carry out practical and effective bilateral cooperation and cultural exchanges with relevant universities in Kazakhstan.

The delegation also visited around the university. Several administrative and hospital department headsattended the meeting.
