Xi’an Medical University joined the “Belt and Road” Alliance of Language and Culture for universities and the first Council Members

On June 19, the founding meeting of the Belt and Road Alliance of Language and Culture for universities, sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and hosted by Xian International Studies University. Wen Tong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, Bai Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xi'an International Studies University, and other leaders and representatives from relevant Chinese and foreign universities attended the meeting. Vice President Li Xueping attended the meeting.



Bai Li said in his speech that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative. The Belt and Road Alliance of Language and Culture takes language and cultural exchanges as the entry point to provide a platform for universities along the route to deeply integrate into the "Belt and Road" construction. As a cooperation platform, we hope that the fraternal universities can build consensus, share wisdom, and learn from each other in terms of promoting discipline construction and talent training, and strive to build the alliance into a model of Shaanxi's foreign cooperation and exchanges.



Wen Tong said the establishment of the Alliance has opened up new prospects for universities in terms of mutual learning of academic resources, cultural exchanges and interactions, and serving local economic development. It is our initiative to take its advantages in cultural, scientific and educational resources and actively expand the education opening to the outside world. It is a new attempt to build a new pattern of education opening.

At the founding meeting, Li Xueping and leaders of other universities jointly unveiled the Alliance . 29 Chinese and foreign universities, including Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, became the first batch of council members.
